A general update for you on the goings on at Perceived Sound. We are slowly but surely building out programming for PS Radio. APONIMMA (hosted by Ryan Connor of Sublamp) will officially broadcast on the final Friday of each month. Apologies for the hiccups with last week’s show, however! These are live performances and we ran into some unforeseen back end fuckery while connecting Ryan’s set up to the servers (although we appear to have figured out what was causing that issue.) At any rate, we will plan to schedule repeat airings of the last APONIMMA to make up for it, so keep an eye on the calendar. (As always with Ryan, it’s very special and we are lucky that he’s a part of all this!) Recently, Jason Kahn sent us a 60min sound walk recording from Zurich and this is also now in regular rotation. Another new show is THRUM which i am putting together. For anyone who has heard my monthly CAMP Radio show (“Sonification”) this is going to be way more free form in terms of the genres that i’ll be covering. The debut (happening this weekend!) will feature The Birthday Party, Seam, Porcelain, Rollins Band & more. (You get the picture.) THE MORNING DRIVE SHOW has been a random affair of me broadcasting some mornings during my drive to work. It has been similar to this blog post: some blabbing and updating - mainly to keep my mind off of traffic So...yeah...at the risk of this first post turning into a novella, i just wanted to say thanks for checking all this out and taking the ride with me/us. I am always thankful to the friends and supporters that jump on board with these whims. Essentially, i am trying to find a way of making this label more community based, inclusive and creative. A micro freak scene! I don’t want to just pump out digital releases into the void. It’s more interesting to me to have this be a bit more sprawling and connected...so that’s the goal. Also, when i say “community,” i mean it. PS Radio is open to all...there are a lot of potential hours to fill. So if anyone reading this has any desire to host a show, let me know! Let’s have some fun, together, with all of this.
